Will you be able to eat with dentures?
Yes, start with a soft diet then move on to a normal diet, take small bites, and chew them properly. Adjusting to dentures is challenging in the first 3 – 4 weeks and may take more to adjust facial muscels.
Will dentures change how you speak?
With some practice, you will be able to speak clearly. At first, your voice may sound odd because the sound reaches your ears through vibration in the bones of the jaw and skull. Wearing dentures changes and increase the sound, but only you will notice this.
How long should you wear your dentures?
Remove it only before going to bed.
How to take care of your dentures?
- Remove and rinse after eating
- Handle carefully
- Clean your mouth after removing
- Brush your denture daily
- Soak overnight and wash it properly before wearing it again
How often should you see your dentist?
- Twice a year
- Visit early if the denture is loose or irritating your gums
- If you notice any abnormality in the oral cavity
- Any lesion or swelling or redness
